The GL7 basketball styled for Molten successfully passed ADI Executive Committee’s and International Jury’s selection for the second edition of the ADI Compasso d’Oro International Award 2017, getting an Honorable Mention officially announced in Milan.
The international competition, addressing issues of vital interest in contemporary life, this year was focused on Sport – Performance and Innovation, so taking sports, articles accompany sporting activities and services promoting the practice and playing of sport as its theme.
“At the heart of the event,” explains ADI President Luciano Galimberti, “is the ability of design to improve sports equipment through innovating functions, language, and messages.”
“The official game ball GL7 for FIBA international tournaments”, states Nicola Guelfo, Head of Industrial Design Styling at Italdesign, “combines tradition and innovation: our design team and Molten collaborated so to create a uniquely configured orange 12-panel basketball with two light-colored stripes all around for enhancing visibility”.
